OneNote 16.66.1 doesn't sync anymore in macOS Catalina 10.15, Error Message:

In File menu -> View sync errors menu item shows:

OneNote cannot list the pages after click a section.
 

Solution:

  1. The solution now is to uninstall the current version of OneNote for Mac.
  2. Then go here All Platforms and Versions OneNote Download to download and install: Mac OneNote 16.77 (Release at 2022.10.12).
  3. Then log in to your Microsoft account and you can resume normal use.
 
2025.5.13 release Mac OneNote 16.97.

Microsoft Account 

This phenomenon only occurs in OneNote notebooks within Microsoft personal accounts. 
However, OneNote in Microsoft school and work accounts does not have this issue and can sync normally.
